Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-05-07
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the MedEventz platform at medeventz.org. MedEventz is operated as a non-profit initiative by Champions Educational and Medical Society (R) and Amogh Foundation (collectively, “MedEventz”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. What MedEventz is
MedEventz is a platform that helps medical event organizers list, publish, and manage conferences, workshops, CME programs, webinars, and similar events; and helps medical professionals and students discover and register for those events. We are not the organizer of the events listed on the platform unless explicitly stated. The organizer of each event is responsible for the event’s content, scheduling, conduct, refunds, and any certificates or credits issued.
2. Eligibility
You must be 18 years or older and capable of entering into a binding contract under Indian law to use MedEventz. By creating an account you represent that you meet these requirements and that the information you provide is accurate.
3. Accounts
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your sign-in credentials and all activity under your account.
- You must provide accurate identity, professional, and contact information, and keep it up to date.
- One account per individual. Sharing accounts is not permitted.
4. Roles on the platform
Beyond attending, you can request to participate as an organizer, sponsor, or exhibitor. Each elevated role is granted at our discretion after a review. We may revoke a role at any time if the role is misused.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- upload content that is unlawful, defamatory, infringing, deceptive, or misrepresents medical credentials or facts;
- use the platform to spam, harass, or solicit other users;
- attempt to bypass technical or security controls (rate limits, RLS, payment verification);
- scrape, copy, or republish event listings or attendee data without permission;
- use the platform in violation of any applicable law, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and rules thereunder, the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and the Medical Council of India / National Medical Commission regulations applicable to advertising medical services.
6. Organizer obligations
- You must accurately describe your event, including dates, venue, agenda, faculty, fees, and refund/cancellation policy.
- You are responsible for compliance with all laws applicable to your event, including taxation, accreditation, advertising standards, and any sector-specific rules for CME credits or pharmaceutical sponsorship.
- You are responsible for delivering the event as advertised and for honoring your published refund/cancellation policy.
- If you collect payments via direct-payment mode (your own UPI/bank), you are the merchant of record for those transactions and are responsible for refunds.
7. Delegate (attendee) obligations
- You register for an event for yourself only, unless the organizer’s policy explicitly permits a third-party booking.
- Tickets and registrations are personal and non-transferable unless the organizer permits transfer.
- You must follow the organizer’s code of conduct at the event.
8. Payments and refunds
- Payments for events using platform checkout are processed by Razorpay. The applicable Razorpay terms apply to those transactions.
- Payments made in direct-payment mode are made directly to the organizer using their UPI ID, bank account, or payment QR code displayed on the event page. MedEventz is not a party to these transactions and does not hold these funds.
- Refunds are governed by the organizer’s cancellation policy. MedEventz facilitates refunds for platform-checkout payments at the organizer’s instruction; for direct-payment events, refunds are handled by the organizer directly.
- If an event is cancelled by the organizer, the organizer is responsible for issuing refunds.
9. Intellectual property
You retain all rights in the content you upload (event descriptions, abstracts, images, etc.). By uploading content, you grant MedEventz a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display, distribute, and store that content as needed to operate the platform. The MedEventz name, logo, and platform itself are owned by us; you may not use them without prior written permission.
10. Privacy
Our handling of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy. By using the platform you consent to that handling.
11. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts, remove content, or refuse service if we reasonably believe the user is in breach of these Terms or applicable law. You may close your account at any time by contacting us.
12. Disclaimers
The platform is provided on an “as is” basis. MedEventz does not warrant uninterrupted availability and does not guarantee the accuracy of event listings, which are supplied by organizers. CME credits, certificates, and accreditation claims are the responsibility of the issuing organizer or accrediting body.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MedEventz is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of the platform. Our total liability for any claim relating to the platform is limited to the fees you paid to MedEventz (not to an event organizer) in the twelve months preceding the claim. Because MedEventz is a non-profit initiative and does not presently charge platform fees, this cap is typically zero.
14. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold MedEventz harmless from any claim arising out of your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the platform.
15. Changes to the Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified via email or a prominent notice on the platform. Your continued use of the platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
16. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.
